The Trouble with Skyrim Kingdom Come Part 32

Description

I'm gonna be honest with you, folks: I was never quite sure what to think when I was making this strip. There were times I thought I was trying too hard, wasn't trying hard enough, being too harsh on Alexander J. Velicky, and everything in between. But all things considered, I think I like the final product.

That said, this is the last big info dump I'm going to foist on you. The main purpose of this strip was to do something I should have done weeks ago. In Falskaar, mostly due to the limitations of the game, a lot of the backstory is delivered through dialogue and in books. This is painfully boring to people who haven't (and more to people who have) played the mod, and it makes the new characters and lore seem more distant than the colorful and familiar faces that Bethesda gives us. To be clear: I do NOT blame the mod author for this. I do, though, blame myself for trying to follow suit instead of taking advantage of the resources available to me as a comic strip author-type person. :) So consider this my attempt to deliver a backstory that allows you to understand, and maybe care just a little more, about the natives of this zany world of Falskaar, their motivations, and their goals.

A lot of the backstory was provided by the in-game books added by the mod, but some of it was thrown in by me. I'll let you figure out which is which, just in case anyone who plans on playing Falskaar doesn't want me to spoil it. ;) I will say, though, that Yngvarr really interests me as a character. In the mod, he acts like a pretty generic villain, but to me his backstory actually makes him more three-dimensional than some of the Skyrim villains. He's still a bad guy, of course, but I can't help but empathize with him just a little bit. Which made writing the flashbacks from his perspective very fun for me. :D

Loved all of the side notes in the back story. That was great! Such fun storytelling!
